Muziris Contemporary is a South Asian contemporary art gallery based out of Fort Kochi and Mumbai.
The gallery serves as both a catalyst and a platform for introducing and promoting contemporary art from South Asia and beyond, engaging with the broader South Asian art market. It brings bespoke Indian and international art to Kochi, a southern Indian port city with a rich history of trade, art, and cultural exchange, and the home of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. The name pays homage to the ancient port city of Muziris, a historical hub of commerce and cross-cultural dialogue. This legacy informs its commitment to showcasing contemporary art from the region while engaging in global conversations.
Muziris Contemporary operates across three distinct spaces: a sales office and viewing room in Mumbai that anchors it to the art market;
a physical gallery in the Jew Town region of Fort Kochi-Mattancherry, and the Vagamon Artist Residency in a hill station in Kerala.
