B Bhaskar (b. 1979), hailing from Kothamangalam in Kerala, is an artist deeply inspired by nature and rural life. His fascination with art began in childhood, nurtured by his rural upbringing near Idukki, where solitude allowed him to focus on painting. After completing his pre-degree, Bhaskar moved to his maternal home and pursued a diploma in Fine Arts at RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Thripunithura.
His early works centered on nature, later expanding to themes of humanity, other life forms, and landscapes. Over time, he transitioned to portraying the harmony of rural life, emphasizing unity and coexistence. His art captures the essence of simple lives, relationships, and the vibrations of nature, aiming to inspire deeper connections between humans and the environment.
With over 22 years of experience, Bhaskar has participated in 100+ exhibitions, camps, and seminars in India and abroad. Notable recognitions include the Arts Metro Award (2014) and the V. Sankara Menon Endowment Gold Medal (2021-22). His work reflects surrealistic elements, exploring dimensions beyond immediate perceptions, often created in meditative states.
Bhaskar remains dedicated to art, blending it with cultural activities, and continues to draw inspiration from his rural roots. For him, nature, especially its greens, symbolizes power and serenity, shaping his artistic vision. Through his work, he strives to rekindle forgotten connections with the earth and its rhythms.
